Reiver signs software deal with FunXtion

Fitness solution provider Reiver Fitness has signed a technology partnership with software specialist FunXtion.

Reiver, launched last year by industry veteran Jon Johnston, will add FunXtion's new integrated app to its offering for health clubs.

Using a multi-device platform – including an app, wearable tech and in-club touch screen technology – FunXtion delivers a virtual, digital fitness solution that increases the accessibility of functional training to individuals training independently or in small groups.

The online coaching platform gives members access to their training plans anytime, anywhere, and personal trainers are able to interact with members 24 hours a day.

The around-the-clock access to information and connectivity has designed to help maintain motivation and improve member retention.

The solution also offers users instant access to more than 1,000 exercises and 600 workout routines.

Caroline Richings, director at Reiver, said: "FunXtion tackles the major challenges concerning how to support and optimise functional training through digital solutions.

"The fully integrated and interactive system gives club operators the opportunity to provide ongoing training and motivation support to the increasing number of members who want to get involved in functional training, both inside and outside of their facility.”

FunXtion currently has a presence in 25 countries and is being used by a number of fitness brands, including PureGym, FitForFree, JD Gyms, DW Sports, LemonGym and Snap Fitness.

Richings added: “Technological developments and access to high-speed broadband, coupled with the creativity of companies like FunXtion, has seen gyms and their exercise offers transformed over the last few years.

"The introduction of digitalisation offers new opportunities to motivate and engage users in a way that has never been possible before."
